About Erwin Olaf and his work

A brief biography to provide some context about their work
Erwin Olaf is a Dutch photographer. He has been the photographer for big advertising projects for famous companies like Levis, Nokia, and Microsoft. His photographs have been in the past considered daring and provocative but over all he has won many awards and has held several exhibitions for all his work around the globe. His works include Berlin, Hotel, Hope Grief Rain, Skin Deep and a few more.

An outline of the type of photographs they produce
He produces photographs that show events that are normally over looked or kept secret. He styles them in a way that isn't too graphic for the public. The way he sets the scene out makes the picture seem unrealistic as the models involved look more doll like then human.

A clear idea of what the purpose of their work is/was
When Erwin was starting out he wanted his main intention to be raising awareness and explore issues like, race, sexual tastes, beliefs, habits, etc. He liked bringing up subjects that are often looked over by many people including the media.

The photograph below is from Erwin's project called The Paradise Portraits Series.
